We launched our anonymous, confidential, 24/7 Crisis Hotline at the end of 2017. 

We receive calls from women we connect with on motel outreach and through our Phone Bank, local law enforcement, hospitals, and other local nonprofit organizations. Our hotline phone is answered by one of our advocates and they respond within the first 90 minutes of receiving a call. During crisis response, our advocates offer support, inform them of the services we offer, and help with any immediate needs. The most common immediate needs we assist with are emergency medical needs and emergency shelter. We also give them a Hope Kit full of hygiene products, snacks, a journal, comfortable clothes to change into, and a resource sheet of shelters in the area. 

Our advocates connect with each crisis response client at least once a day for the first 72 hours, ideally in person. This looks different case to case, but usually entails helping them get adjusted to their new normal and offering emotional support. At the end of the 72 hours, they get to decide if they want to join our long-term advocacy program or continue on their own. 

During the first year of our hotline, we received 44 calls.
